Q: Does the HealthSmart filter work in any brand furnace or air conditioner?
A: Yes. Our filter is 3/4" thick
and will slide into your
existing filter track.
Q: Are the filters
disposable?
A:
The aluminum filter frame is
permanent. The filter material that is placed into the frame is
disposable.
Q : How often do I need to
change my furnace filter?
A : That depends on which type
of filter material is chose. Filter refills last between 30 - 90
days.
Q : What is a MERV rating?
A : MERV stands for the
Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, and is a measure of a filter's
worst-case efficiency performance. The higher the MERV
rating, the more efficient the filter.
Q : How do I know which way
to insert my refills ?
A : The Biosponge and Biosponge
Plus material has a writing across one side of the filter, this will
be facing you when you place the material into the frame. The
pleated refills,(Microsponge, BioPleat, or PurePleat) will have the
wire backing against the mesh of the frame, and the white pleat is
facing you.

Q : What can be the
consequences if a furnace filter is not replaced?
A : A furnace filter left in
place past its effective replacement time can become clogged by trapped
dust and debris thereby restricting airflow, which can lead to furnace
damage. It is therefore necessary to ensure timely replacement of the
filter.

Q : Do more efficient
filters require me to retrofit my system to make them work?
A : No. Genuine Air Sponge
filters for your furnace are 3/4 inch deep, and will slide into your
existing filter track.

Q : I am using a standard
cardboard frame fiberglass filter. Are they effective?
A : No! These type filters
are sometimes referred to in the industry as "non-filters." Yes, they
will trap some airborne particulate, but not as much as genuine Air
Sponge filters.
